Registration for Fall 2026 will open on April 13, 2026 thru June 30, 2026 or until capacity is reached for all programs. Please find more information regarding registration below.

The Center for STEM Education at UNC Charlotte offers a STEM Pre-College Program to broaden the pool of students pursuing mathematics, science, and engineering majors and careers. Students in grades 6-12 with interests in math and science are encouraged to apply.

The program consists of ten Saturdays during the academic year. Historically, participants engage in various hands-on-enrichment activities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Activities include: field trips, lectures and demonstrations by UNC Charlotte faculty/staff/students, robotics; math and science competitions, SAT/ACT preparation; STEM Fairs, Science Olympiad and more.  

Registration

Registration for Fall 2026 will open April 13, 2026 and will close on June 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Please make sure that you submit via email to stem-precollege@uncc.edu via pdf the following required documents:

  • Application;
  • Application Fee ($125.00); and 
  • Transcript/most recent report card (GPA 2.5 or higher/grade of “C” or higher in the student’s math/science classes). Infinite Campus/PowerSchool screenshots are permitted. Student’s name and school must be evident on the transcript and report card.
