The Modeling the Future Challenge
The Modeling the Future Challenge is a real-world mathematical modeling competition for junior and senior high school students. The Challenge helps students learn mathematical modeling, statistics, and actuarial science by creating mathematical models about how a new technology will change the future. The Challenge also comes with hefty scholarships and awards including $50,000 in college scholarships, $5,000 in educator awards, and travel grants for all finalist teams to participate in the MTF Symposium in the spring.
UNC Charlotte is a partner in the MTF Challenge providing support to local educators who want to get involved and learn more about math modeling and actuarial science. The university is hosting a local information and training event on June 12, 9:00 – 10:30 am.
