UNC Charlotte STEM Pre-College Program Mission

The Center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education offers STEM Pre-College Program at UNC Charlotte.The goal of the STEM Pre-College Program is to broaden the pool of students pursuing mathematics, science, and engineering majors and careers.STEM Pre-College Program actively recruits. Our curriculum is based on enrichment activities, geared toward College Prep courses and essential standard for. Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). STEM Pre-College lessons align with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCoS). The students benefit using the K-12 Science Education framework. Students engage in lessons which use scientific literacy, scientific writing along with science and engineering practices. The program uses creative ways to allow students to plan and carry out investigations, use computational thinking and construct explanations. Our students focus on designing solutions while posing explanations based on evidence.

Enrollment Information
The enrollment criteria for participants includes Students grades 5-12 with average to above average academic achievements in math and science.
