Pursuing excellence for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) teaching and learning
CSTEM Mission
Our mission is to enhance our nation’s scientific and technological capabilities. We understand that, to prepare for STEM careers, all learners must have equitable opportunities to develop foundational STEM knowledge and skills. STEM Education builds an advanced understanding of how people learn with modern technologies in order to create individualized learning experiences, to inspire inquiry and life-long learning, and to foster creativity. We enable the curiosity of learners of all ages, cultivate a culture of innovation, and provide STEM leadership for regional, state, national, and global audiences. The Center supports STEM teaching scholarship programs such as the UNC Charlotte CrEST Program, the NC Space Grant, Career Fairs, Research Symposiums, and a wide variety of events and STEM-based student research forums. The Center matches STEM and education resources of UNC Charlotte to the needs of the surrounding schools to improve K-12 mathematics, science, technology/computing and engineering teaching and learning in North Carolina.

We partner with STEM educators on campus and leaders within our community that are looking for opportunities to promote STEM education in North Carolina.
