STEM Professional Learning Community (PLC) 2024-2025

The Center for STEM Education is pleased to present the STEM Professional Learning Community (PLC) for 2024-2025. This professional development series is an excellent opportunity for practitioners and educators to learn about current trends in education, gain use and expertise with STEM curricula and tools, and network with a diverse population of STEM teachers, administrators, and subject-matter experts. The STEM PLC meetings will take place primarily on the campus of UNC Charlotte for 2024-2025 on the following dates from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m:

November 14, 2024
December 5, 2024 Coding Week 
January 3, 2025 Carolinas STEM Teaching & Learning Conference 
February 6, 2025 Engineering Week 
March 27, 2025
NC STEM Festival April 2025 Date (April 27 tentatively)

The STEM PLC had its first session on Thursday, September 19, 2024 in the UNC Charlotte Cone Center. Dr. Marco Scipioni, Teaching Associate professor in the School of Data Science facilitated a presentation on the fundamentals of data science with a group activity and discussion. Lunch is provided at each STEM PLC meeting providing the opportunity for participants to further discussions regarding the content presented and develop relationships conducive to future collaborations.
